Our Access Team will ensure you receive your initial appointment within 14 days of your first call requesting care.

At Wellvance, we treat both children and adults, with one or more of the following; serious mental illness, intellectual/developmental disabilities, serious emotional disturbance, substance use disorder with a mental health illness, mental health illness with a chronic physical health condition such as: asthma, COPD, high cholesterol, hypertension, obesity, diabetes, etc.

We currently accept MedicaidMiChild, or Healthy Michigan . If you do not have insurance, we can provide you with a Medicaid application. Click here to learn more.

*If you do not have insurance and meet all other eligibility criteria, you may be placed on a waiting list. The waiting list is reviewed twice monthly.

Information is safeguarded by several federal and State laws with the exception of someone being a danger to themselves or others or suspected abuse/neglect.

Minors 14 years of age or older may request and receive outpatient therapy for 12 sessions or 4 months without guardian approval.

Seeing a psychiatrist involves more than just scheduling an appointment. Psychiatry is a specialized field, and before meeting with a psychiatrist, it’s essential to have a thorough understanding of your needs.

Typically, you’ll start with an assessment by a Wellvance professional, such as a therapist or clinician, who can evaluate your symptoms and determine the most appropriate course of treatment. This initial step helps ensure that when you do see a psychiatrist, they have all the necessary information to provide you with the best care possible and ensures your care is personalized and effective from the start.

Unfortunately, no. You'll need to contact your previous prescriber or primary care doctor for additional medication.

At Wellvance, we offer co-occurring treatment for persons with mental illness and substance use disorders. We do not offer a direct substance use disorder program. You can learn more here.

*Wellvance does not operate an inpatient Substance Use Disorder Treatment/Recovery/ or Rehabilitation Center. 

There are many options available to individuals requiring supports. These options are all researched prior to any recommendation for guardianship and/or guardianship alternatives.

No, however services are provided under an individual plan of service which is developed through a case manager, care manager, or therapist.

This is possible, however, we encourage you to contact your local community mental health/behavioral health provider to get a referral.

Individuals must meet eligibility requirements for any service.
