Youth/Young Adult Services

Health and wellness services are available to eligible youth/young adults in Iosco, Ogemaw, and Oscoda counties in Northern Michigan. If you're a parent or guardian ready to inquire on youth services, please call our Wellvance Access Team at 1-844-225-8131!

At Wellvance, we provide ABA Therapy for young people under 21. ABA Therapy helps kids with autism learn new skills and improve their behavior using positive rewards. This approach helps them make meaningful and lasting progress.

ABA Therapy is offered across all three counties (Iosco, Ogemaw and Oscoda), and is based on medical necessity determined by a series of tests completed by a licensed psychologist.

What Does the Treatment Involve?

ABA helps kids and young adults with autism learn important skills. This includes talking and mimicking actions, playing by themselves and with others, using language in different ways, improving social skills, and interacting with peers. Wellvance also offers training for parents and caregivers to help at home. Treatment is provided by a Board Certified Behavioral Analyst (BCBA) and a team of ABA Techs through a contacted provider at either their site location or in the child's natural environment.

For youth and young adults with serious emotional issues, a Wellvance Care Manager helps both the child and their family create a personalized plan for a better future. Care Management supports youth in gaining independence and learning to handle their challenges as much as possible. This ongoing, coordinated support is key to helping them move towards a brighter future.

What is Care Management?

Care Management helps with evaluating a youth and their family's needs and connecting them to local resources. This support can include getting help with things like financial aid, food, clothes, short-term housing, long-term housing, medical and dental care, vision care, transportation, social support, therapy, and other services.

Care Management services varies from child to child and family to family based on the needs of the youth. Goals stay the same; empowering children to overcome challenges, advance their potential, and help them swing into a future filled with happiness and success!
